Purging / Archiving Cardex (F4111) Item Ledger File

Have any process for purging records from the CARDEX/F4111 Item Ledger file? We are manufacturing company and our Cardex is growing very fast at the rate 200,000 TO 300,000 records per month. We already have 10 MIllion records. This is affecting our system performance and we need manage this table.
Also we have UBE's to populate the "As Of File" for the Cardex. This is running fine but most of our JDE reports are based on the Cardex and NOT the As of File.
