Xe to 9.1 upgrade: Browser performance

 We are upgrading from Xe (Remote Desktop Services architecture) to 9.1 (web client) and are finding challenges with performance under our current ie 9 browser.  We've tried ie 10, Chrome and Firefox with much better results but for other reasons are trying to standardize on Internet Explorer and can't yet jump to i.e. 10.  I am curious what others have experienced around browser performance used to access EnterpriseOne 9.1 and whether there are any tips in the configuration of the ie 9 browser to maximize performance.
