Install Base Instance Definition - Serial Number

Hi,

When we create item instance in IB, we can enter serial number whatever we want and this field is not considered item serial number generation and prefix which is defined

at item master. For example;

- Item serial option :'Predefined'

-Starting Prefix: S

-Starting Number: 001

Serial number has been generated from this option but in IB we can enter X00001 serial number manually and install base instance is created successfully.

How can we connect IB and Item master related with serial number info?
