Using Custom Parts in Manufacturing.

My users purchase material in bar stock and then machine the material into the required shape required for a job. The item is then setup in inventory and subsequently issued to the job. Is there anyway in Oracle we could perform this process so that the item cost and labor could flow to the job without setting up the item up in inventory.
