Number of streams in an environment.

Hi All,
I have a question regarding the number of streams in an environment.
We have a production database and wish to Stream for separate schemas.
My question is: Should we create one stream for all the schemas, or should we create separate and independent streams for the different schemas. How are the two configurations likely to affect performance (speed)? How will they affect reliability?
My current thoughts are to use separate schemas to isolate any problems and make them easier to handle.
So each stream would have separate queue and queue table plus capture, propagation and apply process.
Thanks
