R12 Changing Ledger Names

Hello

We have approx 120 different Ledgers and have tried to keep to a naming conventio to easily identify them.

My problem is that several of these ledgers have obscure names, inherited from 11i SOB names.

The R12 accounting ledger setup form is allowing me to change the ledger name / short name but i am unsure if changes will have an impact on any other functionality.

Can anyone advise ?
