reasons for loads quite high as compared with invalidations

For a sql I have seen that V$sql.loads were quite high as compared with V$sql.invalidaitons (I dont have any data to refer back to). I want to know the scenarios where reloads can be higher with respect to invalidations. If the query is invalidated then next execution will ensure that reload will increment by 1. Thatway, loads should be 1 more than invalidations. But then I am not able to think of any reason for loads data to be that high.
Looking for your thoughts in this line???
