Strange display of Task UI applet after some time

 Hi All,
We have an issue with Task UI. There is a custom task which works fine most of the time, but at some point, some applets start to render in a strange way: Text is overlapping and the choices in a choice applet can not be selected properly. Please find two example pictures in the attached file.
The only way to fix this is to leave the task and restart it.

Siebel version is 8.1.1.6 SIA
The system is Windows XP SP3 with IE8

I reinstalled HI framework, same issue
I uninstalled and reinstalled IE8, same issue
I reset all IE settings, temp files etc, but same issue
