oracle forms launch issue app-fnd-01931 after ie upgrade to ie9 from ie8

A user is reporting issues when launching forms with the error message "app-fnd-01931: your session is no longer valid" when logging in to or EBS 11i instance. We tried removing cookies, and reinstalling java etc but the user still gets this message. The ie was recently upgraded to ie9 on this pc. The user is able to login fine on another pc with ie8. The 11i instance is 11.5.10.2 with db 11.2.0.3.
