R12.1.3 Linu : During application patching adrelink is failing "adrelink is exiting with status 1"

Hi,

During application patching with adpatch in our oracle apps r12 environment we are frequently getting following error

Swapping bintmp and binstage.
Stage preparation complete.

adrelink is exiting with status 1

End of adrelink session
Date/time is  Thu Apr 25 00:46:03 EDT 2013

Line-wrapping log file for readability ...
Done line-wrapping log file.

Original copy is /eb_rao0_d/applmgr/d550appl/admin/D550/log/adrelink.lsv
New copy is /eb_rao0_d/applmgr/d550appl/admin/D550/log/adrelink.log




We are able to resolve this by following the metalink note
***********MOS Note : "ADRELINK of MSC and MSO executables fail [Note 1492763.1]" *************


But we want to know what is the reason for this frequent failure and if there is any parmanent solution for it
