Approval Authority field at Job Definition Level

Hi,

I have 2 questions regarding the 'Approval Authority' field in the Job Definition form:

1) Do I need to complete this field if using Employee-Suppervisor Approvals (NOT using AME)? Is only for AME that this field is completed for Jobs?

2) Considering as example 2 Jobs: 1) Director and 2) Manager where Director can approve a greater amount than the Manager. Shall I assign 1 or 2 to the Director job?
