I have a DB Oracle 9i on windows 2000 server. The database fails to open.

We perform the following steps:
1.-sqlplus / nolog
2.-connect sys / xxxxx @ orcl as sydba
connected to an idle database
3.-SQL> startup pfile = \ ora9i \ database \ initorcl.ora
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 949036476 bytes
Fixed Size 456124 bytes
Variable Size 411041792 bytes
Database Buffers 536870912 bytes
Redo Buffers 667648 bytes
Database mounted.

After 20 minutes, still at the same point.
The BD does not open and does not give any errors.

What is happening?
