BI Publisher drop down prompt takes very long time to show the selected value in IE

Hi All,
I am using BI Publisher 11.1.1.5.0.

My BI Publisher report has a drop down prompt with some 4000 values. When I open the report in the report viewer in Firefox or Chrome, and choose a value(s) in the drop down. It gets displayed at once without taking much time. But when I open the report in IE and do the same, it takes very long time to display the image and often shows a message saying 'Stop running the script?'.

I have attached a screen shot which explains the issue. Please review and advice.
