BNE Document Lifetime

We have numerous JE templates which business users uses for uploading journals.  The BNE Document life time profile option was set o 5 years and a couple days back, all the templates stopped working.  When they try to open the saved excel template they get a message that the DOCUMENT WAS DISABLED.  We changed the life from 5 to 6 years but still the same error message.
We can create new templates and they will work, but considering the number of templates we are looking for a solution on how to resolve the issue and continue to use the existing template.

Any feedback from members will be greatly appreciated
