Allowing Multiple Disposal

We are on 8.12 tool release 8.98 bug number 10880141 supposed to be fixed after 8.10 happens in 8.12 as well. After I dispose an asset and Post the entries if I go back and try to dispose system lets me dispose it again and creates another set of journal entries.
One of my friends who works on 9.0 says was able to replicate the issue on his version as well, Is there a work around or a fix that I am not finding on Knowledge Garden
