Excel Add-In forward compatibility?

I have a client currently on release 11.1.2.0 who have some users who use the Excel Add-In.  We are upgrading them to release 11.1.2.2.  They plan to eventually move all users to Smart View.  For now, they want to allow some users to continue to use the Excel Add-In.  Is the 11.1.2.0 Excel Add-In compatible with Essbase 11.1.2.2?
