Oracle 11gR2 Windows 2008 Server primary SID : ORCL
standby SDI : ORCLSBY
Situation : Powered off Oracle Primary, failed over to standby, brought primary back online.
I need to either recover primary back to working primary state or convert failed primary to new standby
I am stuck and having trouble understanding what to do from here.
Here is where I am :
On Standby :
DGMGRL> disable fast-start failover force
Performing failover NOW, please wait...
Failover succeeded, new primary is "orclsby"
DGMGRL> show configuration
Now orclsby is primary.
On PRIMARY :
Start ORCL instance on original primary.
DGMGRL> show configuration
ORA-16795: the standby database needs to be re-created
