Why index size increased after rebuild?

Hi,
Rebuilding indexes from a 64KB uniform extent tablespace to 100M unform extent tablespaces

the total size of indexes is 20  GB before rebuild but size became about 75  GB after rebuild to new 100m uniform extent tablespaces.

Corresponding tables were moved  to 100M and there are  no issues

Why there is 2-3 times increase in space occupied ?

Will this  decrease the performance rather than increasing it?
