Output Tempate does not default in when spawned by another report

I have created a Pick Slip in XML.  I have created a Document Set, when I run my Pick Release I use the document set to produce the pick slip report but the Report only produces XML the Layout field is blank in the Upon Completion area.   If I run the XML Report alone the proper layout will default in and the report produces the proper PDF format.
