Unconfiguring and removing LUNs and targets in Solaris without rebooting

A topic of concern for our customers is removing Fiber Channel connected LUNs from Solaris without needing to reboot, so I am opening a topic of discussion for this here on the SAN Community Forum.Note there is a different procedure for removing entire storage arrays, which I will include below.  This discussion will primarily focus on removing individual LUNs, while leaving other LUNs from same storage target intact.  Often we receive Service Requests after-the-fact, and the system has one or more LUNs stuck in a 'failed' or 'failing' status, and often requires a reboot to resolve.  The effort here will
