Cannot complete installation as Root.sh script fails due to 'srvctl start nodeapps -n rac-group-a-1

 Hi All,
I'm attempting to configure a RAC environment using VirtualBox by following this tutorial:


but get the following error when running the Root.sh script (as prompted at the end of the installation):

/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin/srvctl start nodeapps -n rac-group-a-1 ... failed
FirstNode configuration failed at /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/crsconfig_lib.pm line 9196.
/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/bin/perl -I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/lib -I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl execution failed
