Can Configurator be set to create fixed prefix for ATO item number creation?

I have a single ATO model part number, let's call it XX-ATO. Whenever this item is configured, it would create the "star" item number of XX-ATO-nnnnnnn. My question is, can Configurator be set up to, for a particular model, specify a constant number as a prefix for the "star item numbering" based upon an option selected? For example, if I order XX-ATO and I can choose one of 2 options for an internal radio - radio 1 or radio 2. Can Configurator be set up so that my resulting item number is XX-ATO-1nnnnnn if radio 1 is selected or XX-ATO-2nnnnnn
