Converting from RAC to Single Instance - Steps Needed

Hello all:

With the federal sequester and bad all around financial system I have been asked to remove our RAC and convert it to a single instance. I know, " Why would you want to do this?". Well, I don't and fought it but the truth is the money isn't there and it may not be long before forloughs start like they are with other agencies. My agency is looking into all options to reduce costs such as going to SQL Server and such. Our database is only 350GB and around 143 consecutive users so it isn't very hard hit.

I need to know the easiest way to convert to a single instance so we can drop the RAC licenses and hopefully save some funds. Mostly by not having to have licenses for X number of cores and such. I have a a 2 node RAC ON Windows 2008 SP2. My database is 11.2.0.3 patch 15 and is 64 bit. I was thinking of taking a full export, deleting all things oracle and recreating the database and importing the data. However, there may be a simpler way and that is why I am asking for your advice.

Howdy, Stranger!
