How change the functional currency of the set of books, imapct on the existing balances and best app

Gurus,

we have a requirement to change the functional currecny of the set of books to new functional currency,convert the data from old functional currency to newer one and remove the records of the of old functional currency.

Can you please help us with the case study,any poosible approach to make this conversion happen imapct and risk involved?
