Importing Employee Data into Oracle from Another application (SpreadSheet)

Hello,
My company just acquired a new company and we are in the process of merging the systems.  We want to merge their employee data from there HR system into Oracle.  Currently we are extracting the information into excel sheets from there system however I am tasked with finding out how to import this data into Oracle possibly by an API.
