RDF Forecast Procedure - 'Period' Input Parameter

Hi,Could you please let me know what does the 'PERIOD' input parameter to Forecast Procedure do. The guide says it is mandatory (Required - Yes), but I think, the procedure runs without this parameter as well.

I am using a Bayesian forecast method and not sure what to give in 'PERIOD'. As per the guide, it is 'The forecasting period for calculating seasonal coefficients'.
