Freeze pane functionality in Apex

Hello,
Has anyone implemented the Freeze pane functionality in Apex 4.2? If so, could you please provide the steps?

I am trying to freeze one or more columns, so that users have the capability to scroll left and right. This is being tried in a tabular form.
