ReOrganization: Splitting a Legal Entity

I am looking for information on reorganization.  Specifically the steps and considerations for splitting a legal entity within a ledger.
The current structure is:

                    Ledger1
                        |
                Legal Entity1
                 |                |
            OU1            OU2

The new structure will be:

                    Ledger1
                     |          |
      Legal Entity1    Legal Entity2
                |                |
            OU1            OU2
