API for updating pay_people_groups

Hi,

Is there any API for updating the pay_people_groups table. We want to update employee People Group data , I have done this using the below API but this API creates the new record in pay_people_groups table and updates the employee assignment with the new people_group_id.

hr_assignment_api.update_emp_asg_criteria

SO can you please let me know if we have any such API which can only update the pay_people_groups table with the new values and not update the employee assignment?
