Selecting whether to build to a forecast . . . please comment

I am looking for opinions on the forecasting model I am pursuing, and alternatives you have tried for similar scenarios.  We use ASCP with MRP Forecasting, so I prefer comments using these as solutions but I will also appreciate input on how Demantra would work.

The key issue to resolve is this:

     * Some areas of our supply chain (typically deeper into the raw materials) will build material for both firm demand and forecast demand

     * Some areas will only build to firm demand and don't even want to see the forecast.

     * Some areas will build to firm demand and will selectively build to some forecast demand.
