Different Type Of Exchange Rate Type

Is it necessary to maintain Exchange Rate on daily basis for "Corporate" or "Spot" rate type even the rate is not changing very frequently? For example, If we import Invoice with foreign currency USD ( Primary Currency "PHP") of date 02-May-2013 though Open Interface, and we have Exchange rate for USD-PHP of date 01-May-2013 in daily rates table, After Invoice Validation, program puts the Invoice on Hold with "No Rate" error. So is it necessary to maintain exchange rates on daily basis? Is there any configuration, through which system will pick the latest Exchange Rate?
