Record focus issue with SmartScript on click of finish or cancel button

We have a smartscript which creates Activities this is run from My Requests and My Team's Requests views.When we execute the smart script and use finish or cancel button from my request's view the record focus is kept as expected.
But when we use the same from my team's view on a record that is not assigned to the current user but assigned to some one in his\her team, it looses focus.

We have executed the smart script with no script on the Cancel button, the issue is replicated.
Please suggest if it is a known issue or so and how can we overcome this?
