Old sql*net v2 client and Oracle 11
Hi all.
I have kept some Oracle databases in older versions (9 and 10), but I'd like to plan a change toward Oracle 11 g, at least in 2 databases. My worst problems arise from the need of keeping the compatibility between the db's and a very restricted set of applications requiring slqnet v.2 . I noticed that a v2 client works well with Oracle 9 or 10 db, but does not with 11 g.
I'd like to ask you whether, in order to solve my problem, I may exploit the compatibility between v2 and 10g and the remote listener mechanism.
In practical terms, if a remote listener of an 11 db is configured on an 10, could I enjoy the advantages of 11 and the compatibility of my old clients ?
