How can I organise voting disks in ASM using two separate disk cabins?
I have acquired a client who has a RAC installed on AIX 6.2 with the following config.
2 disk cabins in different data centres (I don't know the details (or even the make as yet) of the cabins
2 RAC (11gR2) nodes, one in each data centre.
The voting disks are in the ASM as recommended and the diskgroup for the voting disks uses NORMAL redundancy, and 2 disks from each cabin for a total of 4 disks
(The data diskgroups use a similar config).
This all works but when, as a test of the high-availability, they started to unplug disks from the Voting diskgroup to see how robust the installation was, the whole cluster collapsed when they unplugged the second disk.
