Update to Lot Controlled item - add expiration date

We updated items in several orgs - not all and added User Defined to the lot control.

We then re-loaded the inventory and the system accepted all of the expiration dates, but didn't store them.  When you look at the inventory there is no expiration date.  Has anyone ever seen this behavior before?
