Lead time for Make Items

Hello experts,

We have ASCP R12 planning carried out in unconstrained mode. We have Make and Buy items. While the lead time concept is pretty clear to me for the Buy Items and how ASCP handles different leadtimes and populates the dates,I've some confusion on the Make Item lead times.

I've read different notes/user guide,but still need some help to confirm the below points:

a) Make Items have componenets which are Buy and so,Pre,Processing and Post processing are setup for the component items. For the Make item itself (the assembly item),is there a need to setup any of the Lead time attributes on the Item Master ?
