Want to use encumbrance accounting

I want to use budgetary controls for Fixed Asset Applications. I dont want to use summary accounts.

Is there any way to handle Budgetary control for Asset???

I tried to create a Custom Event class at Acount Method Builder for FA, so whenever an Asset is added/Retired , i want to offset the Asset Cost/Clearing Account with Encumbrance Account (Encumbrance Entry).

Any help on this is appreciated.
