ASCP 12.1.3.8 - Auto-Release Planned Orders step errors with ORA-02049: timeout: distributed transac

Question I have is can this job simply be relaunched or must I rerun the entire Plan (Launch Supply Chain Planning Process)?  We have yet to find the root cause of the timeout and only have a possible solution to increase the timeout DB parameter from 60 to 300 seconds as a workaround.  In the meantime, we would like to avoid the time required to rerun the entire plan and just rerun the Auto-Release job.  We see the issue very intermittently and cannot reproduce it at will.  SR with Oracle has not been helpful due to this inability to reproduce the issue.
