Enhancement Request for 'Save As' Functionality from a Custom Grid

End users want to be able to do a 'Save As' to create a new custom grid after making slight modifications to an existing custom grid, i.e. without having to start over from scratch.
Is this possible?

'Save As' functionality from a Grid has been requested in Bug 16432812 - SAVE AS OPTION ON THE GRID FOR CREATING FORMATS

The likelihood of an enhancement being considered for inclusion in a future release is increased when more customers request the same functionality.
