Changing the Default Header Business Unit by Line of Business

I want to be able to default the header business unit into the order entry screen based on a value or category code of a customer by line of business
The business wants to free the customer service team from having to decide where the stock will be shipped from and using the advanced preference 05 inventory commitment works for stocked items but not for Kits

Is it possible to create or modify an advanced preference to populate the MCU in the order header or in the order detail other than using the inventory commitment preference?
