Get User Selected Printer in RDA Named Event Rules
We currently use Bottomline Transform as our document formatting solution for RDA reports. The main use case is the user sending a report to a JDE printer, which is a Transform program that formats the PDF and sends it to an alternate printer. The flaw in this solution is determining the printer that the output should actually go to. We need to embed the printer name as text in the PDF that is sent to Transform so the Transform program knows where the output should actually go and we can control it dynamically.
Our ideal solution would be to allow the user to select the printer like any other report in JDE, but have logic setup to overwrite the printer with the Transform program (ie an alternate printer) then embed the user selected printer in the report output. This way we can turn print immediate on and we have formatted output through Transform and it is invisible to the user. The problem is, we can override the user's selected printer in NERs but we do not know of a way to get the selected printer to embed on the report. Does anyone know
