Will L2ARC increase my read performance ?
Dear All,
Good afternoon. I'm wondering whether adding SSD to L2ARC will increase READ performance in my Oracle database server.
We have a M8000 server with 8 CPU and 512 GB memory, running Oracle Database (part of Oracle EBS). We have zfs_arc_max set to 100 GB, no L2ARC, and everything works fine. There are around 7 TB data stored in a STK 6580 storage with 15K RPM FC drives.
And now we need to expand our storage and considering SSD. But which one is better :
1. Just buy SAS based storage for data and use SSD for L2ARC, or
2. Buy SAS and SSD for data, no L2ARC
