Receiving asaginst supplier short part number

I have a situation where I want to receive against Supplier short part number.

example - My item no is AF0082800, Supplier Item cross refrence is AF0082800, But when supplier send me consignment he puts the item no as "AF 828" . No when I try to receive this through MSCA it does not recognize these parts.

can anyone guide me how to enable this?

I tried below things but it dint worked.
1. Defined Cross reference Type and assigned to thise items with short part number
2. In Master Item assigned the same through Item cross reference assignment
3. Updated profile option "INV: GTIN Cross Reference Type" to "Short Part Number"
