Hello

we are configuring 11.2.0.3 RAC with ASM (External Redundancy) and NFS
Storage is NetAPP Filer / NAS with 18 disks

We need to create ASM Disk groups, DATA and FRA

NetAPP filer has one single RAID volume / aggregate comprising of those 18 Disks
The way it works on the NetAPP filer is that you create a VOLUME from that AGGREGATE and then carve out LUNS and there is one to one mapping between VOLUMES and LUNS

so, for example if the AGGREGATE is 3 TB and you want to create a 800 GB DATA disk group, you can do it in 2 ways

METHOD # 1
==========

1) Create 8 VOLUMES of 100 GB from that AGGREGATE of 3 TB

Howdy, Stranger!
