Custom Security Profile is very slow and times out
We created a Security Profile, with a custom select statement. We selected "Restrict the people visible to each user using this profile", and we checked the "Allow Granted User" box.
The idea is to allow the user to see the employees who fall under their hierarchy. The hierarchy is based on the Timecard Approver field on the "GRE and other info" form, which is the segment2 field on the hr_soft_coding_keyflex table. We created an index on this field, and we ran the Security List Maintenance request.
The sql runs great by itself, but when it is run by the application to view the employee timecards, it timeouts by the time we get to the second level timecard approver. Is the problem with our sql, or some of the options we checked when setting up the security profile, or are there other requests we have to run?
