Change order scenarios in the CTO process

We have a query in our implementation involving CTO scenario. We need to know at what all points can/cannot changes be done to the configuration. The below are the possible point in time in business when changes may happen. If Oracle doesn't allow changes from sales order to cascade to discrete jobs, how can we achieve it? What are the possible ways/solutions?
1. After booking, but before discrete job is created.
2. After booking, after discrete job is created (unreleased)
3. After booking, after discrete job is created and released.
4. After booking, after discrete job is created and on Hold.
