How 'safe' is it to access the 'x$ksmsp_nwex' view?
Hi,
Some years ago I accessed the 'x$ksmsp' view to monitor the state of the shared pool in a production database. Unfortunately this had the effect of causing the database to hang (very embarrassing at the time), so I have never accessed that view again. I now notice that a 'new' view - 'x$ksmsp_nwex' is available at 'later versions of' 11g, which is claimed to be 'safer' for use in a production database than 'x$ksmsp'.
Is it safe to access this view on a busy production database? Any views on this? Any thoughts which you may have on this would be greatly appreciated.
