New to OEM 12C Release 2. - Wish to monitor the network interface link for up down

Hi, I am new to OEM and I would like to know if it is possible to monitor the eth network interfaces on our Exadata DB nodes to check if a link has gone down from within OEM 12C.

The reason for this is that we use a separate NIC (eth2) for dataguard only. I would like to be alerted via oem if this interface were to go down.

Is this possible to do through a user defined metric or by copying an existing template?

I see there is a network template for metric measurement on network interfaces but do not see a metric for link down. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
