Installing new production servers and pointing to new db

We have successfully upgraded Siebel SIA 7.8 to 8.2.  This has been running in production for 6 months. Now we are upgrading the application servers to new hardware, keeping the same OS versions etc.  Is there

a best practice for doing this.  The  current production Oracle database is NOT moving, just the Gateway, Enterprise, and app servers. I'm thinking to do something like this?

1. Use an existing test 8.2 db or copy one and install the enterprise using the same names for GW, Ent, and app servers that the prod servers are using.

2. Run the configuration migration utility to set all the comp parms using the siebns.dat from prod.  Also use the same IDs/pwds for anon users, sadmin, Siebel, etc.

Howdy, Stranger!
