Open task on merged customer

Hi,

Please could someone help me with an issue where a customer has been merged, however there was still an open task in the persons own tasks for the merged customer on the  Universal Work Queue. They get an oracle error when trying to close the task. 

'Invalid Source Object Details Provided.Cause: Source Object Type Code, Source Object ID and Name Should Be Provided'

I think the error is due to the fact that the data associated with that customer has been deleted or end dated. However I need to know how to remove the task from the individuals work queue.
